My C drive (capacity 232 GB formatted) suddenly became full. I finally tracked it down to the shadow copy files located at C:\[user]\AppData\Local\Safe Mirror.

To temporarily solve the problem, I deleted the entire contents and changed all but 1 of the backups not to use Volume Shadow Copy.

On the other hand, a new problem: without the directory above, Cobian is creating a fresh copy of every file rather than just the relevant changed files.

I use Cobian as a mirror service rather than a traditional backup. Files are copied to external hard drives and any changes on my local hard drive are mirrored. If I delete on my local drive, then they are deleted on the external. Same for changes, additions.

How can I set this up to be run quickly without filling up my drive C?

Yo can disable the Safe mirror option on "Tools-Options-Engine-Advanced-Safe mirror". OR you can move the Save mirror directory to another drive.  This will save you a lot or space.
